Year 10 visit Centre for Computing History

On Wednesday, 15th January Year 10 Computer Science Pupils had the opportunity to visit The Centre For Computing History, in Cambridge. The Centre tells the story of computing and showcases a significant collection of computers, games consoles and related items, and highlights the people behind the inventions to inspire future generations.
Pupils were shown the world's largest functional microprocessor model built by James Newman in Cambridge as listed in the Guinness Book of Records, and had the opportunity to program a microcomputer to operate motors to make a robotic device. As well as receiving a tour of the old computers in the museum, and understand the development of electronic computing devices, plus a chance to play on some of the retro gaming machines in the museum.
