Jane Austen College Celebrates Harry Potter Night for 6th Consecutive Year
BackOn Friday 3rd March, students stepped out of Jane Austen College, and into a specially created Hogwarts School of Magic, during the popular annual Harry Potter evening event.
Muggle attire was replaced with wizarding costumes, and students took part in lessons including Wand Combat, Care of Magical Creatures (thanks to Bert's Amazing Creatures), and a shop full of Wizarding Wheezes to rival anything by Fred and George Weasley.
This is the sixth year it has run and every year it gets bigger. This year, over 130 students joined staff for the "Biggest Harry Potter Quiz this side of The Leaky Cauldron".
Head of School, John Vincent said:
"As an academy that specialises in English, our students are taught the importance of reading for pleasure, as much as for their academics. We are advocates for literature in all its forms and our Harry Potter Day celebrates the fun of storytelling! Bring on next year's event!"
