JAC AR Cathedral ChoristerIn November, one of our Year 11 pupils, Abigail Riches, was selected to join the Norwich Cathedral Senior Girls’ Choir, after auditioning for the place earlier this year.

The girl choristers make an outstanding contribution to the musical life of the cathedral and the city, committing a substantial amount of time to rehearsals, services and concerts alongside their busy school lives and studies. Girls are selected at audition purely on their own merit and are presented with a Chorister pin as an acknowledgement of their achievement in school.

Norwich Cathedral has recently entered a new era of music, offering choral opportunities to boys and girls alike from the age of 6 to 18, increasing the range of opportunities available and ensuring the finest young voices can contribute to the Cathedral’s rich musical life. Both the senior boy and senior girl chorister groups are open to young people from any school across Norfolk.

Young singers and their families can find out more about all these musical opportunities by contacting Norwich Cathedral’s music department via music@cathedral.org.uk
